Runescape Mining Guide

Runescape Mining

Runescape is a massive online adventure by JaGex Ltd. Mining in Runescape is a hard to level but rewarding skill when used by itself or in conjunction with Smithing. This guide tells you a bit about mining and what the ores are used for.

When you start off mining you should mine tin and copper till your level 20 before you start mining iron. Iron ore sells for about 80 gold pieces on the Grand Exchange (as of January 2098) or can be smelted with a 50% success rate unless you have a ring of forging (Members only). You should continue mining iron ore till you are level 35 and start mining coal. Coal is very important as all high level smithers need it, this sells for about 150-170 gold pieces on the Grand Exchange. Coal is used to make Steel, 2 coal per one iron ore, Mithril, 4 coal per one mithril ore, Adamant, 6 coal per one Amdamant ore and Runite, 8 coal per runite ore. As you can see it is always in demand and very easy to sell.

Now thats your level 55 you can mine mithril ore, mithril ore sells for about 350 gold pieces each on the Grand exchange or can be smelted with 4 coal to make Mithril bars which sells for about 1,000 gold pieces each.

Once you are level 60 mining you now have access to the mining guild. It has 37 coal and 5 milthril so you can easily mine coal with little competition on a quiet server.

When your 70 you can mine Adamant ore which sells for about 1,100 on the Grand Exchange or can be smelted with 6 coal into Adamant Bars.

At 85 you can mine runite ore which sells for 12,500 - 13,000 gold pieces at the Grand Exchange or it can be smelted with 8 coal into Runite Bars.

Tips

Some useful tips are:

- Always equipt your pick when ever possible while mining as them frees up one space in your Inventory.
- Try to avoid wearing armour as this makes your energy run out sooner.
- Try to get the best pick possible for your level.
